Gul has more than 13 years of experience in flood modeling, fluvial transport modeling, and spatial technology applications in disaster management. He holds a master’s and Ph.D. in Disaster Management from GRIPS & ICHARM (PWRI), Japan. Gul has also worked as an expert on DRR, and water-related disaster management, including collaborative projects with numerous national and international organizations. His recent work is enabling evidence-based policy and decision support systems for climate adaptation interventions in Pakistan. Previously, his work at the ICHARM centered on the measurement and modeling of fluvial processes in Bangladesh, Japan, and Pakistan.
Currently, Gul is the Director of the Center for Disaster Management at UMT, Lahore, which is a flagship initiative mandated to lead research, education, and services in the field of Disaster Management in the region. He is also a part of the faculty and teaches undergraduate students at the School of Governance and Society, UMT.
